One of the best metal album to come out of 2008, Torche are one of those bands who are praised for their unique sense of eclecticism through lush, ethereal and thunderous music, meaning that some of the music might take you down to the deep depths of doom, like the title track, others might sound like a Jimmy Eat World song "across the sheilds" and for that reason alone, i dig this. you dont have to be really into metal to appreciate this album, so give it a shot, you might like it.

"Songs Once Deemed Unworthy" contains nothing more than the warm passionate voice of Shady Ahmed and the simple yet effective melodies of his acoustic guitar that just drive the point home. the album is written from an introspective point of view and everything is executed with a poetic air. this dude's got soul.
