Mr. Bungle - California

Album: California
Year: 1999

If anything, this album is definitely schizophrenic, and is very highly creative. Mr. Bungle sound is abstract and absurd and very experimental. this, their last album, features countless genres that range from one end of the spectrum to the other, hence the term "schizophrenic". Even though this sounds like one of the harder albums to get along with, I don't believe that this is entirely true. download this if you're looking for something creative, new and unbelievably odd.

The Decemberists - Her Majesty

Album: Her Majesty
Year: 2003

The Decemberists are an indie rock outfit, and i have to say that they are really good, despite the fact that the music is kind of hard to listen too, but i think that they are very creative and different. this album feels very theatrical and dramatic with ALOT of memorable songs, as in they stick in your head and you keep recalling them from time to time, if you feel like downloading this, id recommend you first listening to "billy liar", "i was meant for the stage" and the unbelievably amazing indie love song "red right ankle". these songs will familiarize you with the rest of the album, which is a great one all in all.

Electric Wizard - Dopethrone

Album: Dopethrone
Year: 2000

Electric Wizard is an english Doom metal band, often referred to as "the heaviest band in the universe", and this statement holds much truth to whats going on the album. Heavy crushing walls of sound that redefine "low tune" and build up as the music grinds along in a snails pace. Dopethrone is a very important album in its genre, and if you like riffs that feel like theyre gonna eat you alive, pick this up.

Tracklist:
1. Vinum Sabbathi
2. Funeralopolis
3. Weird Tales/Electric Frost/Golgotha/Altar of Melektaus
4. Barbarian
5. I, the Witchfinder
6. The Hills Hve Eyes

Incubus - Morning View

Album: Morning View
Year: 2001

One of my all-time favorite bands (too bad about whats happened to them now though). Incubus was originally a hardcore funk-metal band, this album along with its predecessor has marked their venturing into more ambient soundscapes while retaining their original groovy funkadelic sound, sounds good doesnt it. the album is generally mellow rather than aggressive ( even thouh there are a couple of heavy numbers here and there) and makes for a great listen no matter what your musical inclinations are.

Tracklist:
1. Nice to Know You
2. Circles
3. Wish You Were Here
4. Just a Phase
5. 11am
6. Blood on the Ground

8. Warning
9. Echo
10. Have You Ever
11. Are You In?
12. Under My Umbrella

The Cardigans - First Band On The Moon

http://static.cardigans.com/microsites/first.band.on.the.moon/img/records/fbotm_euro.jpg

Album: First Band On The Moon
Year: 1996

One of the better pop rock bands of the 90's, The Cardigans are from sweden, and most of the band members have their roots in heavy metal, which makes for the diversity in the music (and the BEAUTIFUL black sabbath cover of iron man). On this Album, you can also see how this band pays attention to the little details in the arrangements and the music. Vocalist Nina Persson has one of the most beautiful, sweet and hushed voices ever. All in all a very impressive effort that makes for a very enjoyable listen.

Om - Conference Of The Birds

Album: Conference Of The Birds
Year: 2006

Very very heavy stuff, om is a two-piece band or a "bass-band" meaning that there are no six-stringed guitars on the album, just a set of drums and a bass. you'll hear nothing more than slow trance-inducing riffs that are repeated over and over again, and if you think thats boring, im very happy to say that you couldnt farther from the truth. because with each repeating sound the music crawls under your skin, theres a good chance that you might not like this but if you are a true psychedelica lover then your in for the ride of your life. Experience.

Tracklist:
1. At Giza
2. Flight Of The Eagle

Godflesh - Streetcleaner

Album: Streetcleaner
Year: 1990

Bass-Heavy Industrial-type metal that feels like doom piled ontop of more doom, godflesh draw alot of comparisons to black sabbath, the songs on this album are deceptively simple, but are delivered with pin-point precision. definetly Pick it up if youre into nine inch nails or just metal in general.
